In 1937, Parker redesigned the Vacumatic line. Following the streamlined aesthetic introduced with the Duofold, a new plunger system replaced the Twist-fill Lockdown mechanism.
The new plunger did not lock down but remained aluminium. The blind cap was lengthened to accommodate the redesigned filler, which Parker marketed as the "Speedline" fill.
The official story claimed one-handed operation made it faster. In reality, the Twist filler had proven prone to breakage and was costly to repair.
There are hundreds of Speedline models. Begin by selecting the cap band style that matches your pen.
