Gold Cap Models
Luxury Variants
INTRODUCTION
Imperial Speedlines, often referred to as Gold Cap models,
represent the luxury end of the Vacumatic Speedline range.
These models featured:
- Gold-filled or solid gold caps
- Matching gold-filled trim
- Aluminium Speedline filler (1937–1941)
They were produced alongside Maxima and Major models,
but at a significantly higher price point.
IDENTIFICATION FEATURES
- Fully metal cap (gold-filled or solid gold)
- Chevron or decorative band integrated into cap design
- Arrow clip (pre-1939) or Blue Diamond clip (1939 onward)
- Striped section (early) or black section (post-1939)
The presence of a Blue Diamond clip helps date the pen
to post-1939 production.
PRODUCTION PERIOD
Imperial Speedlines were produced approximately between
1937 and 1942.
Later versions transitioned to plastic filler rods
during wartime production changes.
COMMON CONFUSIONS
