Jewellers Band
Decorative Cap Band Variants
INTRODUCTION
Some Speedline Vacumatics were fitted with decorative cap bands
commonly referred to as “Jeweller” bands.
These bands were more ornate than the standard chevron engraving
and were often associated with higher-end or specialty variants.
Jeweller bands may appear on:
- Maxima models
- Major models
- Occasionally slender versions
IDENTIFICATION FEATURES
- Decorative engraved cap band (non-chevron)
- Often wider than standard band
- Paired with aluminium Speedline filler (1937–1941)
- Arrow clip (pre-1939) or Blue Diamond clip (1939 onward)
Band engraving patterns vary and may include:
- Geometric motifs
- Diamond patterns
- Custom jeweller designs
PRODUCTION PERIOD
Jeweller band Speedlines were produced primarily between
1937 and 1941.
Exact dating depends on clip type, filler material,
and imprint details.
