Vacumatic –
Broad Band Standard

1938 Only

BACKGROUND

In June 1933 the Vacuum Filler changed name to Vacumatic. Two different price lines were developed: the Top Line and the Bottom Line.

The Top Line came in three primary sizes:

• Oversize
• Standard
• Slender

The Standard measured approximately:

• 14 mm wide (at widest point)
• 131 mm long (closed)

Measurements may vary slightly in production.

BROAD BAND VARIANT (1938)

In 1938 a special version of the Standard was produced featuring:

• 9 carat solid gold broad band
• Gold-filled broad band
• Some examples with Canadian imprint

DISCONTINUATION

These pens were discontinued in 1939 when the streamlined Speedline Standard with the redesigned Speedline filler was introduced.
