INTRODUCTION

In 1937 the Slender Lockdown was replaced by the Slender Speedline, introducing the new aluminium Speedline filler.

1937 TRANSITION MODELS

Early 1937 examples may feature the raised “VACUMATIC” cap band, similar to other transitional Speedlines.

These are short-lived and highly collectible.

STANDARD PRODUCTION (1937–1941)

• Chevron engraved cap band
• Arrow clip (pre-1939)
• Blue Diamond clip (1939 onward)
• Striped section (early) → black section (later)

Colours typically included:

• Red
• Grey
• Green
• Brown
• Black

1942 TRANSITION

In 1942 aluminium filler rods were replaced by plastic rods due to wartime material restrictions.

• Plastic filler rod
• Rounded blind cap
• Blue Diamond clip common

These represent the final Speedline-era Slender models.
